Embodying a Shared Leadership Culture – it Works.

In this case of a medium-sized energy and water supplier with approximately 250 employees, the focus was on digital change and defining a common leadership and collaboration culture. Even today, we continue to support and guide the client in the sustainable and holistic implementation of the developed vision and guidelines, e.g., through team workshops or the development of suitable employee appraisal formats.

1. Background & Mandate

Background.

After two unforeseen events (Covid-19 pandemic, flooding of the company headquarters), the company abruptly and for an extended period transitioned all employees to digital work in home offices. After the end of this “state of emergency,” the company faced two challenges. First, to continue embracing digital change with motivation, and second, to recalibrate. Recalibration was to be achieved by developing a shared vision and guiding principles for leadership and collaboration.

Our Tasks.

Guidance throughout the entire change process, from planning and conception to implementation. Providing the framework for laying the foundation of a new leadership understanding and a new sense of unity. Within eight months, we were able to further establish the cultural shift towards digital work and make a significant contribution to common, clear, and unambiguous communication and collaboration among leaders and within teams.

2. Building Blocks & Process

In the following graphic, you will see the various content modules as well as the timeline from the kick-off workshop to the embodiment of the shared leadership guidelines. In this specific case, we were able to guide the elements highlighted in red during the development process. The topics highlighted in gray were handled independently by the company at their request.

3. Conclusion & Outlook
