We interviewed Karin Pauli, who is celebrating her 20th Commax anniversary. She started at the Commax reception, developed into a project manager, and has been responsible as a team leader in our Back Office for many years. Despite her originally planned retirement, we are fortunate that Karin will remain with us in the future. We wanted to know how we were initially able to win her over and what led to Karin enriching Commax with unwavering commitment over such a long period.

How did Commax manage to find and retain such a great employee?
Karin: “That was about 20 years ago. Back then, job advertisements were still published in newspapers like the Süddeutsche Zeitung, especially on weekends. In the print version, an advertisement from Commax caught my eye, wh ich stood out significantly from the others: It was handwritten and had a small smiley, unlike the usual machine-typed ads. That was a real eye-catcher for me. After I saw that Commax was near my place of residence, I applied directly. A phone interview followed, and finally, I was invited for a personal interview. From the very first moment, I felt very comfortable. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the office, and back then, we were still a small team. That’s how it all started, and it just felt right from the beginning until today – from both sides.”
You have now been with Commax for 20 years. What are the reasons you have stayed with Commax for such a long period?
Karin: “What convinced me from the very beginning – the great atmosphere, the people, and the scope of work – remained consistent throughout the years, even as my responsibilities changed. I started as a reception secretary and was able to take on many different roles over time. Today, I have been a team leader for several years. It has always been enjoyable, and I have met many wonderful people.
Commax – The People Specialist, that is truly a lived reality here at Commax. And it’s simply a pleasant working environment. Great colleagues. So, yes, that’s how you can easily stay for 20 years.
What leads to you remaining with us for the next few years, even though you originally wanted to retire?
Karin: “As I already mentioned, the atmosphere here is simply great, and that hasn’t changed over the years. When I’m on vacation, I look forward to coming back to the office.. I cannot imagine an abrupt end at the moment. As long as it works for Commax and me, and there is an activity I can perform with reduced hours, I will continue to stay. I simply look forward to continuing to work with the nice people and our clients here.”
Thank you, Karin, for taking the time for this interview. We are very pleased that you continue to enrich us with your experience and commitment. Here’s to many more years together with you – A TOAST to YOU!
